The Blue-and-Yellows lost 0-2 after the first half, but scored three times in the second
Team of Ukraine won a strong-willed victory in an away match with North Macedonia national team in qualification for European Championship 2024 – 3:2.
The Blue-Yellows conceded twice in the first half. Enis Bardi converted a penalty awarded after the ball hit the hand of defender Nikolai Matvienko. And eight minutes later, Elif Elmas scored the second goal.
Wards of Sergei Rebrov turned the tide of the game after the break. Ilya Zabarny and Efim Konoplya scored their debut goals for the national team. After the score became equal, the home team remained in the minority, the second yellow card was earned by Visar Musliu.
At the end of the meeting Viktor Tsygankov scored the third goal. The Ukrainian national team withstood the final onslaught of the hosts and won the first official match of Sergei Rebrov as head coach.
The Blue-and-Yellows have taken three points and are fourth in Group C. England lead the way with their third win in qualifying, defeating Malta 4-0.
