Zenit signed a deal with the Brazilian club in January, following which the striker Youri Alberto moved to Corinthians permanently and the club from St. Petersburg received a defender Robert Renan and Du Queiroz. Renan joined the Bleus-Blancs-Bleus this winter, while Du Queiroz is expected to leave for Russia on June 18.
“I leave with a feeling of gratitude. I’ve been at this club for over 10 years and I know everyone here from the cleaners to the president. I spent more time in this club than at home. I really appreciate being part of it and growing up here.
I love you all, fans, teammates, staff. You know how I feel, you are in my heart forever. I hope to return home one day,” Du Queiroz wrote on social media.
This season, the 23-year-old midfielder has made 17 appearances for Corinthians and hasn’t scored a single goal.
