Ukrainian for the first time played on grass
Ukrainian tennis player Alexey Krutykh reached the finals of the Grass Challenger qualification in Ilkley.
Alexey defeated the representative of Japan Rio Noguchi in three sets. The first set ended with the victory of the Ukrainian – 4:6, in the second game the Japanese athlete bounced back, the score of the game was 6:3. In the third set, Krutykh defeated Noguchi – 3:6. Athletes spent one hour and 50 minutes on the court. For tennis players, this was the first personal meeting.
Interestingly, for the first time in his career, Alexei played on grass.
In the qualifying final, Alexey will meet with the Chinese Shang Junchen, who beat Stuart Parker 2:1.
