“You never get tired of winning trophies. The girls did a great job” – WFC head coach “Zenith” after winning the Super Bowl

WFC Zenit head coach Olga Poryadina after beating CSKA in the Russian Super Cup match said the team’s game plan worked.

St. Petersburg football players “Zenith” defeated CSKA Moscow in the match for the Winline Russian Super Cup. The main time of the match, which took place at the VEB Arena in Moscow, ended with the score 1:1. As part of Zenit, Ekaterina Pantyukhina scored a goal (71 minutes), Ekaterina Bratko (79 minutes) scored against CSKA.

After the final whistle, according to the regulations, a penalty shootout was decided, where the women of St. Petersburg turned out to be more accurate – 5:4.

– From the first minutes we played carefully to see what CSKA would offer. The Army team was more motivated, as it was the third Super Bowl for them and they had lost the previous two. Again, the match took place in Moscow at the VEB Arena. The plan we gave the girls worked. We scored, started to play a little lower, cashed. And there, plan B immediately worked, which we prepared in the event of a draw in regulation time. Both of our game plans worked.

You will never tire of the emotions of winning a trophy. This is the first Super Cup in the history of Zenit. The girls did a great job of getting it over their heads.

It’s always exciting when it comes to penalties – it’s a lottery. We were preparing for a penalty shootout in the training cycle.

It’s good that we have a trophy, but we have a long championship. Another second round, the final ball, another Russian Cup. The team will therefore have a rest day. Each victory gives confidence. Victory in the Super Bowl will allow you to go the distance of the championship with more confidence, – the television correspondent of the game reports the words.

Zenit won the Super Cup for the first time, which was played for the third time. The previous two times the trophy was won by Lokomotiv Moscow.
