Former Russian national team midfielder Pavel Mamayev told that his football academy in Dubai can be called international as children from different countries attend.
The midfielder ended his professional career in February. In January, Mamaev and Fedor Smolov announced the opening of a football academy in Dubai.
“Do you train only Russian children at the academy?”
— No, today we have about 14 different nationalities. Yes, mostly Russian speakers, but it’s very cool that we have an international history – that’s what we had planned. We don’t have a language barrier: the whole coaching staff speaks English, I also speak English, so everything is fine. By the way, our head office was selected not only for their coaching qualifications, but also for their knowledge of languages. The trainings take place in Russian, English and French. We are perfectly adapted to modern realities.
— Are there any expansion plans?
“Today we want to strengthen ourselves here. It’s very hot in Dubai in the summer, so a lot of people leave, but we’re working – we’ve moved to the arena. From the end of August we will start participating in various tournaments for all ages. Although we don’t want to be scattered in different cities, we want to bring everything here to the ideal. Then, God forbid, we will grow.
Is this story done entirely with your own money?
– Yes, everything is for himself, – said Mamaev in an interview with .
Mamaev played for Moscow “Torpedo” and CSKA, “Krasnodar”, “Rostov” and “Khimki”. For the Russian national team, the footballer played 15 matches.
