Griezmann says he struggled to ‘digest’ the decision to make Mbappe the new France captain

french striker Antoine Griezmann said he did not immediately agree with the decision to choose Kyliana Mbappe the new captain of the national team.

Mbappe became the new captain of the France team after the 2022 World Cup.

– It was hard to accept. And hard. I am already 32 years old. I’m still in good shape, but I understand that my career is on the decline. I had to digest this decision for a few days.

I fully support our captain, Kylian Mbappe. And I wouldn’t change anything,” Telefoot quotes Griezmann.

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who previously captained the France team, retired from the national team after the tournament in Qatar.
