Return of the Spaniard to the Blancos
Real officially announced the loan of striker Espanyol Joselu.
Madrid will pay 500,000 euros for the player’s annual loan. The contract includes an optional option to buy the player for 1.5 million euros.
The striker was reported to have agreed to a pay cut in order to move to Real Madrid.
Joselu is a graduate of Celta. Also, the striker from 2009 to 2012 played more than 70 matches for the Real Madrid-Castilla double. For the first team of the Blancos, the striker played two matches and became the owner of the Spanish Cup.
Throughout his career, Joselu has played for Celta, Real Madrid, Hoffenheim, Eintracht, Hannover, Stoke City, Deportivo, Newcastle, Alaves and Espanyol. The striker played 38 games for the Blues last season, scoring 17 goals and providing four assists.
Real Madrid finished second in La Liga. Espanyol finished 19th in the Spanish Liga standings and will play in the Segunda next season.
