Debut club championship
The championship of Ukraine among veterans in the age category of 55 years and older has ended. The final matches of the tournament, which is held in memory of the famous football player and coach Vladimir Lozinsky, were held in Vishnevoe. Kudrovka-Veterans from Irpin became the champion of the country, Aborigine (Lutsk) finished second, Richelieu (Odessa) finished third.
In total, 16 teams from 12 regions of Ukraine appeared to participate in the 55+ championship this year. During May, the games were held in zones composed according to the geographical principle. The winners of each group also took part in the final stage.
In the semi-final matches, Kudrovka-Veterans defeated Bukovina minimally (1:0), and Richelieu lost to Aborigine in a penalty shootout. It should be noted that the first captain of the Ukrainian national team Yury Shelepnitsky played in Bukovina, Eduard Tsikhmeystruk in Agribusiness, and Valentin Bondar in Kudrovka-Veterans. In the final Kudrovka-Veterans defeated Aborigines – 2:1, and in the match for third place Richelieu defeated Bukovina – 3:2.
The football tournament is held during the war and has the status of a charity. The organizers, including the Association of Football Veterans of Ukraine and the Charitable Foundation of the Sobutsky Family, will allocate all proceeds to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
