Chelsea want £60m plus bonuses from player sale
Manchester United made an improved offer for the Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount. The Red Devils are willing to pay £45m for the 24-year-old, plus £5m in bonuses.
Chelsea management responded that they wanted to earn £60m plus five million bonuses from the transfer. Earlier it was reported that Manchester United is not going to overpay for the player, as it has a limit on transfers.
Mount has already agreed a personal contract with Manchester United. Head coach Eric ten Hag insists on acquiring the English midfielder.
The 24-year-old midfielder’s contract with the Blues expires in the summer of 2024. Mason has made 35 appearances for Chelsea this season. Mount has not played since April with a hamstring injury.
Chelsea finished 12th in the Premier League last season, with Manchester United finishing in third place. The Red Devils also won the English League Cup.
