Former defender of Rostov, Spartak and other RPL clubs Vitaly Diakov told Euro‑Football.Ru that in his childhood his idol was the former striker of Juventus and the Italian national team Alessandro Del Piero whereby he paid more attention to free-kicks.
– All my childhood until the age of 17 I always played in attack. My childhood idol has always been Alessandro Del Piero, I watched all the Juventus games, I saw all his goals and as a child I practiced a lot of free kicks. In his later career, he devoted a lot of time to this. Since then, that ability to hit free kicks has remained. There was a season where I hit the crossbar six or seven times by the norm, that wasn’t bad, Dyakov said.
Del Piero retired in 2015. During his career, he played 777 games, scored 316 goals and made 189 assists.
