Lichka: ‘The goal is to instill in Dynamo players the game I had in Orenburg’

New Dynamo head coach Marcel Lichka in an interview with said that his new team should not only achieve high results, but also play high-speed, aggressive football inherent in Orenburg.

On Thursday, it was learned that Lichka, 45, signed a contract with Dynamo for the 2023/24 season with the possibility of extension for the 2024/25 and 2025/26 seasons ‘under certain conditions’.

– Marcel, with what feelings do you go to Dynamo? What would you like to achieve with this club?

– It will be a big responsibility, because the Dynamo club is one of the best teams in Russia, and they will demand from me that I do everything for the club to be in the top five in the championship. Naturally, they will put pressure on me to get results. Although these requirements are in other teams. The result is always important. What am I waiting for? A person will work with new players, with new people, face different problems, and on the contrary, there will be new chances for more success.

But that has to be proven by your team’s play on the pitch. Because on paper you can have the team you want, but if that team doesn’t work on the pitch, you won’t get anything.

I would be happy if Dynamo showed such a game, which I achieved in Orenburg. Such a game the guys from Orenburg turned out to be. This team played aggressive and fast football, knew how to work with the ball very well and the fans liked this kind of football.

This is one of my goals. In order for Dynamo not only to achieve results, but also to demonstrate his strength in play, to have his own style of play. Therefore, we will work hard on the philosophy of the game in order to achieve good results”, Lichka told .

Lichka has been coached by Orenburg since the summer of 2020. Under her leadership, the team reached the RPL. Last season, Orenburg repeated the team’s best result in the Premier League – seventh place and updated the record for points scored – 46.
