Sion plans to buy out the Brazilian contract
Sion intends to buy the defender’s contract from Shakhtar Marquinhos Cipriano.
The Swiss club is ready to pay 1.5 million euros for the Brazilian, but could not agree with the Miners on the timing of payments.
The club plans to arrange timely payment for the transfer amid interest in Cipriano from Young Boys and Stuttgart.
Since last summer, Marquinhos has made 33 appearances for Sion and provided two assists.
The miner paid a million euros for the transfer of Cipriano from Sao Paulo in the summer of 2018. The Brazilian played 26 matches for the Donetsk first team.
Sion finished last season in seventh place in the Swiss league table. Young Boys finished third and will play in the Conference League qualification.
Stuttgart became 15th in the German Bundesliga table and retained their place in the elite division for the next season.
