Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile have already applied to host the 2030 World Cup in four countries. There is also an application from Spain and Portugal, which also included Ukraine.

According to the preliminary plan, our country was supposed to host one of the groups at the World Cup. According to Andrei Pavelko, one of the arenas in Donetsk may be among the stadiums that will host the world championship.

The Royal Spanish Football Federation in March issued an official statement confirming Ukraine’s replacement with Morocco in a trio with Portugal to host the World Cup. However, in the same statement, Ukraine remained as a possible “host country” of the world championship.

Earlier it was reported that the reason for replacing Ukraine with Morocco was the serious destruction of Ukraine’s infrastructure during a full-scale war with the Russian Federation and criminal cases against UAF President Andrei Pavelko.

At the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Argentina won its third title. The world championship in 2026 will be held in three countries at once – the USA, Canada and Mexico.
