UPL clubs disagree on shared TV pool
Director UPL-TV may become the former chief producer of TK Football 1/2/3 Ivan Gresko.
Such a proposal was made today at a meeting of UPL clubs. If Gresko is appointed, Football 4 will be the channel for UPL-TV, and oll.tv will be the platform for showing matches of the Ukrainian championship.
According to TaToTake, Dnipro-1, Dynamo, Zarya and Veres were against the possible creation of a common TV pool for the UPL. Note that the first three clubs have a valid contract with the 1+1 platform.
Recall that the Premier League offers clubs to create their own platform for broadcasting matches. The second option for resolving the issue of broadcasts in the new season is the sale of rights to Ukrainian and/or foreign media holdings.
Last season, the media partner of the UPL was Setanta Sports. The contract with the Premier League was for 3 years. Five clubs refused to fulfill the terms of the contract – Rukh, Metallist, Dynamo, Zarya and Dnepr-1. Matches of these teams are broadcast on 1+1 Media channels.
However, in April, Setanta Sports announced the termination of the agreement with the UPL. At the same time, the media holding will try to negotiate with the League on broadcasting matches for the next season.
