Former Dynamo football player, and now head coach of Tekstilshchik Igor Kolyvanov reacted to statements by FIFA and UEFA representatives at the RFU conference on Thursday.
On Thursday, the head of FIFA’s European national associations department, Heidi Beha, greeted the participants of the RFU face-to-face conference in Moscow on behalf of FIFA chief Gianni Infantino, and also wished the conference a good work. Josef Kliment, adviser to UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin for national associations, also spoke, expressing hope that Russian teams could return to European football, and noted that the organization was looking to “build bridges between countries, not to destroy them”.
– I hope the ban will soon be lifted in Russia. I really want our best teams to play in international tournaments. It is difficult to say whether the words of the representatives of FIFA and UEFA are the prerequisites for our return. But it’s good that they haven’t forgotten about Russia. I think that soon our teams will return to European tournaments. It’s boring without them and not at all like in other sports without our athletes, “Championship” quotes Kolyvanov.
Russian teams and clubs do not participate in international competitions due to a ban from FIFA and UEFA due to the situation in Ukraine.
