The draw for the group stage of the FONBET RPL Way of the Russian Cup will take place on Saturday, June 24.

16 clubs will take part in the group stage of the RPL Path, divided into four pots. The composition of the baskets is determined taking into account the places occupied by the RPL teams during the 2022/23 season. Instead of two teams that left the league, the teams from the Premier League, which received the right to participate in the RPL at the end of the season, will participate in the draw.
No more than two teams from Moscow can be in a group, as well as no more than one team from the region in which the temporary flight restriction regime is in effect. Thus, Krasnodar cannot enter a group with Rostov, and Lokomotiv (a Moscow team) cannot enter a group where two Moscow teams are represented (if such a group is formed after the distribution of the teams of the first and second baskets) . Also, “Fakel” cannot enter groups with “Rostov” and “Krasnodar” (teams representing regions in which there is a temporary flight restriction regime).

1 basket: Zenit, CSKA, Spartak, Rostov
2 basket: Akhmat, Krasnodar, Orenburg, Lokomotiv
3 basket: Dynamo, Sochi, Urals, Wings of the Soviets
4 basket: BET NN, Fakel, Rubin, Baltika.
The new FONBET Russian Cup will start from July 25-27. The tournament will be played under the double elimination scheme. In the new season, the final of the Path of the Regions will consist of a match. The losing team in the RPL Path final will leave the tournament, and will not play with the winner of the Regions Path final, as was the case in the previous Cup.
