The second medal of Ukraine in athletics
Ukrainian hammer thrower Mikhail Kokhan became a silver medalist European Games 2023.
Kohan took the final second place with a score of 77.03 meters. The winner of the competition was the champion of the 2020 Olympics, Pole Wojciech Nowicki (79.61). The bronze went to the representative of Norway, Thomas Mardal (76.50).
Medalists in athletics at the European Games 2023 are determined based on the results of the performances of athletes in three divisions of the European Team Championship.
This is the second medal of the Ukrainian athletics team at the European Games. Earlier, Vladislav Shepelev won bronze in the triple jump.
Recall that Ukraine took second place in the second division and returned to the elite division of the European team championship in athletics.
In total, the Ukrainian national team has 15 medals at the European Games – seven gold, five silver and three bronze. Competitions are held in Krakow, Poland from June 21 to July 2.
