A number of players have already left the Lutsk team
Main coach Volyn Albert Shakhov said that he does not yet know whether the Lutsk team will participate in the new season. The fate of the club may be decided next week.
“Look, somewhere next week we will still decide whether we will play at all this season. Now there is no specifics and we were not specifically told whether we will or will not participate,” Shakhov said.
“Now we keep fit like that, about three times a week we run with the guys. Once a week we try to have some kind of sparring.”
“Some guys broke contracts – Kobzar, Ryabov, Klimets. The contracts of Voitikhovsky, Lyashenko have ended, in general, they have ended for many. So far, no new ones have been taken. There are about 15 people in training now, both young people and old people, and those who were once in the team.
“There is an option [оставить только детскую спортивную школу]. Next week the CEO and the main investor will come, so I think they will discuss possible options.”
The 2021/22 season in the First League was ended ahead of schedule due to the invasion of Russian troops in Ukraine. Volyn took tenth place in the final standings.
Earlier, PFL President Alexander Kadenko said that the new season could start in late August or early September. The First and Second Leagues will feature 16 clubs each.
