Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic did not exclude the possibility of resuming a professional career.
At the end of the match in the final round of the Italian championship of the 2022/23 season with Verona, the Swede announced his retirement.
– I’m proud that people want to see me back in Milan, albeit in a different role. Milan remains in my heart. And what I experienced with this club stayed inside. This passion of the fans gives me strength. Now I’m in no hurry, after a while we’ll see what happens. It’s only been three weeks. Maybe I’ll pick up the game again, who knows? Maybe in a month I will be at Milan training camp,” Ibrahimovic said as quoted by Sport Mediaset.
Ibrahimović played for Milan in 2010-2012 and 2020-2023. In the 2022/23 season, the Rossoneri finished fourth in Serie A.
