The club demands a lifetime ban on Sakhnevich from playing football in Ukraine
Fans of Zhytomyr Polissya made a tough appeal to the UAF and the UPL regarding their former footballer, who played in Ukraine, including for the second and third teams of Dynamo, Oleksandriya, Metalurh, Kolos and Gornyak-Sport Andriy Sakhnevich.
The 34-year-old defender, already during Russia’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine, signed a contract with the club Ilpar from Ilyinsk (Perm Territory), playing in the third division of the occupying country.
“Ukrainian, Zhytomyr, 34-year-old Andrei Sakhnevich, a former player of FC Polesie, during a full-scale war, betrayed his homeland and left for Russia, signing a contract with a football club from the Perm region,” the club’s fans say in a statement.
“Today he continues to earn money in the aggressor country, without changing citizenship and without condemning the war, he supports the killing of Ukrainians and justifies the crimes of Putin and his army
We call on the Ukrainian Football Association and the Premier League of Ukraine to ban this athlete from any football activity on the territory of Ukraine for life. And as for the return to Zhytomyr, then only in a black package!
It should be noted that Sakhnevich has 4 matches for the youth team of Ukraine and three for the youth U-19 team. Polissya took first place in the First League standings and will play in the Premier League next season.
