Russian coach Alexander Tarkhanov commented on the nomination Milorada Majic to the post of head of the refereeing department of the Russian Football Union (RFU), expressing the hope that the Serb will be able to organize the effective work of the refereeing body in Russia.
On Tuesday, it was announced that Mažić had become the head of the RFU’s refereeing department. The Serb replaced Pavel Kamantsev, who will continue to work as chairman of the refereeing committee. The contract with Majic, 50, was signed for two years with the possibility of a one-year extension.
The Serbs have a mentality close to the Russians. Therefore, Mazic may be able to organize the effective work of the judiciary in Russia. Last season there were many complaints about the refereeing. Therefore, they probably decided to change the leader. Referees should be trained in the same way as football players. After all, in front of the judges there were mainly those who played football themselves. But now the situation has changed a bit. This is probably why errors occur. The referee must have an ultra-fast reaction at all times. He must see everything. Some errors are unavoidable, but there should be no gross miscalculations,” Vporgnoze.ru Tarkhanov quotes.
Majic is a former soccer referee. He appeared in two World Cups, the 2016 UEFA Super Cup, the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup final and refereed the 2018 Champions League final.
