The president of the Kyiv club commented on the return of the famous midfielder to the “white-blue” team.

Dynamo Wanted to bring back Yarmolenko in the winter, but then this transfer could not be carried out. This was announced by the president of the Kyiv club, Igor Surkis, who commented on the signing of a contract with the former player Al Ain.

According to him, the one who initiated the invitation of an experienced midfielder was the head coach Mircea Lucescu himself.

Surki also expressed confidence that the return of the 33-year-old footballer will help the white-blues improve their game and results.

“First of all, I want to note that we were guided by the sports part of this transfer. Last season, the team lacked the quality of the game and experience in attack, and Andriy, of course, was a very high level of the player.who has extensive experience of playing in various tournaments.

Yarmolenko knows very well how everything works in our club, he will not need time to adapt. We hope that Andrey’s experience and level of play will help Dynamo take a step forward and the team will be better than last season.

Head coach Dynamo Mircea Lucescu was one of the initiators of Andrei’s return home and wanted to carry out this transfer last winter. Due to circumstances beyond our control, the signing of the contract with Yarmolenko had to be postponed until the summer. I am sure that with Andrey we would have achieved a lot more in the second half of last season.

But now everything is in our hands, the coaching staff has received one of the best Ukrainian football players who, with their play and experience, can help bring the team to a new level of excellence.

Also, let’s not forget that Dynamo there are many young talented players who can progress faster when such a master trains and plays alongside them. This is also one of the reasons for Andrei’s return to Kyiv.

On my own behalf, I would like to thank Yarmolenko for returning to his home country under such circumstances. It was a strong decision by a strong player in difficult times for us.

I thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the opportunity to hold the championship of Ukraine, I thank everyone who helped our country in this terrible war. I am sure that Ukraine will win at the front, and our football can develop and improve,” the Dynamo press service quoted Surki as saying.
