Manchester United have agreed a new contract with De Gea, but still want to cut the goalkeeper’s salary – media

Manchester United “changed the conditions for re-signing the contract with the goalkeeper of the team David De Gea according to The Athletic.

According to the publication, Manchester United offered the Spaniard a new contract with a significantly reduced salary, the player agreed to these conditions, but before signing the contract, the club changed the terms of the agreement and offered to reduce more wages.

At the moment, De Gea, 32, whose contract expires on June 30, is considering the club’s latest offer. Negotiations are ongoing but there’s no certainty the Spaniard will accept the terms offered. The goalkeeper is also interested in Saudi clubs.

De Gea made 58 appearances for Manchester United in all competitions last season, conceding 61 goals and keeping his net clean in 25 appearances.
