Tottenham manager on charity fight in London
Head coach Tottenham Angelos Postekoglou shared his thoughts on holding a charity match with miner in support of the people of Ukraine.
“Shakhtar is a team that is consistently successful and will give us the perfect test ahead of the new season. However, as we all know, this match is much more than football. This is an opportunity for the club and our fans to come together to show support and solidarity with the people of Ukraine in very difficult times,” Postekoglu said.
“This promises to be a special occasion for me as I will be performing for the first time in front of our home stands and for the world to see once again that football has the unique ability to bring people together in support of good causes.”
Charity match Tottenham — Shakhtar will take place on Sunday, August 6, at the Spurs’ home stadium in London. Tickets will cost £25 for adults and £5 for children under 18. Family packages (2 adults, 2 children) are also available for £50.
All funds raised during the game will be donated to the Shakhtar Social Charitable Foundation, which provides financial support, humanitarian and medical assistance to families throughout Ukraine. Tottenham will also make additional donations.
