Tyson won’t be ready to fight as scheduled
The fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion between the holder of the WBA / WBO / IBF / IBO titles Oleksandr Usyk and WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will not take place in December of this year. The British boxer will not be ready to fight as scheduled, insider Simon Jordan has revealed.
“I was told that Tyson Fury could not fight in December in Saudi Arabia. So we have a long way to go to this fight.
I was the one who questioned the performance of these four fighters on one night of boxing. I can say that no proposals have been received so far. Perhaps everything will be decided very quickly, but they have not yet been. Discussions are ongoing, but a reliable source tells me that this will not happen in December, ”Jordan said.
Recall that Skill Challenge Entertainment is negotiating a fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury, and is also planning a fight between two ex-world champions Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder.
In April, Fury planned to have a unification fight with Usyk, but the Ukrainian pulled out of negotiations due to contract disagreements. The name of Tyson’s new opponent and the date of the Briton’s return to the ring are still unknown.
Usyk will face Daniel Dubois next. The duel should take place on August 26 in Wroclaw, Poland. Usyk will receive 75% of the total prize fund – $6 million. Dubois can count on 25% – 2 million.
