Midfielder “Wings of the Soviets » Roman Yejov told how the coach of the Samara club Igor Osinkine taught him discipline.
Yezhov made 22 appearances for Krylya Sovetov last season (3 goals and 4 assists) and also made his debut for the Russian national team. “Wings” took 12th place in the RPL. Osinkin worked with Yezhov at Chertanovo from 2016 to 2020. Then the coach and player joined the Wings.
– In your youth, you were a little unbalanced on the pitch. How did you manage to overcome this?
– It was Igor Vitalievich who helped. After seven years of working with him, I became very calm.
The most telling moment was when we played in the second division and I retired. So Osinkin sent me to play at KFK for the “youth team” – against the men. I was so beat up there that I said, “I’m never coming back here again.” To which Igor Vitalyevich replied: “If you don’t want to play there, don’t get red cards. It’s simple,” Yezhov told .
