Ten Hag opposed the sale of midfielder
Manchester United considering giving up midfielder Mason Greenwood leased to another club. At the same time, the head coach of the Red Devils, Eric ten Hag, opposed the sale of a football player.
Recall that Greenwood was arrested on suspicion of raping and beating his girlfriend last winter. Soon the Manchester United player’s case was reclassified during the course of the investigation.
In February 2023, the midfielder was cleared of all charges. The player himself did not publicly respond to the accusations. Manchester United suspended Greenwood from training and matches indefinitely. Mason’s current contract with the club runs until 2025, and he played his last match for the team in January 2022.
Interestingly, the Briton remained on the list of Manchester United players for next season.
Greenwood is a Red Devils alumnus and has scored 35 goals in 129 first team appearances. In 2020, the winger made his debut for the England national team.
