The Ukrainian signed a new five-year agreement with the Premier League club
Head coach Brentford Thomas Frank commented on the signing of a new contract with the midfielder Egor Yarmolyuk. The mentor sees great potential in the 19-year-old Ukrainian.
“It’s great news that Yegor has signed a new long-term contract. I’m happy for him, and also glad that the coaches and I will work with him. He is a very talented young player who has a lot of potential for development,” Frank said.
“He was very unlucky to get injured last season. He has already proved himself in training and made his debut. Perhaps he would have played more matches if not for the injury.
“Now he is back in shape and ready to start pre-season. He deserves promotion to the first team group and is ready to play. We really believe that he will continue to develop and if he does, he will have a great future with us.”
Yarmolyuk played 16 games for Brentford B last season, scoring three goals and providing two assists. In November, the Ukrainian made his debut for the first team of the Bees, coming on as a substitute in the 1/16 finals of the English League Cup against Gillingham.
Yarmolyuk joined Brentford in the summer of 2022. The English club paid 1.6 million euros for the Ukrainian and guarantees 10 percent of the player’s subsequent sale.
Brentford finished ninth in the Premier League table. In the first round of the new Premier League draw, the Bees will play Tottenham Hotspur on August 13.
