The coach’s family refused to go to Ukraine

Nice announced the appointment Francesco Farioli the team’s new head coach. Details of the agreement with the 34-year-old specialist were not disclosed.

In June, Farioli was linked with a possible appointment to Miner. The Italian suspended negotiations with the Miners after his family finally refused to go to Ukraine.

Farioli previously worked with Roberto De Zerbi in Benevento and Sassuolo, training goalkeepers. Later, the specialist joined the coaching staff of Alanyaspor, and then headed Karagyumryuk.

In December 2021, the Italian became the head coach of Alanyaspor, with whom he finished fifth in the Turkish Super League. In February of this year, Farioli left the Turkish team, terminating the contract ahead of schedule.

Didier Digard, who has been in charge since January after Lucien Favre’s dismissal, replaced Nice Farioli as head coach.

Nice ended the season in ninth place in the French championship and was left without European competition.
