Yaroshik is best known to Russian fans as a CSKA midfielder. By 2003, the 26-year-old Czech had already won three championships with Sparta and felt the Champions League vibe. The footballer decided to move to Europe. And CSKA worked the fastest. Everyone was happy with the transfer, except Yaroshik himself.
“When we flew to Moscow, I still wasn’t sure if I would sign a contract. I think the agents at the time didn’t know anything about CSKA. Maybe they were even paid to convince me to sign a five-year contract.
We signed the contract, the agents flew away. It was cold outside. I called my family and told them that I had signed a contract with CSKA. My heart was sad. I dreamed of Europe, but ended up in Russia,” Yaroshik recalled of his move to Russia.
As part of CSKA, the Czech played 56 matches and scored 12 goals. He was also ranked twice in the RPL Top Players Ranking.
Jiri managed to play for another Russian club in the 2008/9 season during his football career. For “Wings of the Soviets” the player managed to play 49 games and score 4 goals. The midfielder retired in 2015.
Just two years after his playing career ended, Yaroshik started working as a youth coach for Sparta. The Czech names Pep Guardiola, Diego Simeone and Valery Gazzaev as the main references in the profession.
As a head coach, Jiri made his debut at Usti nad Labem. The specialist was dismissed at the end of the year. For a long time, Yaroshik did not sit without work, and a month later he led the Slovenian “Cele”, but fell into a crisis and fought for survival. And the second dismissal in six months. After that there was work in “Prostejov” and “Teplitz”.
Less than two months after the dismissal of the “Teplitsya”, as a specialist, a new option appeared. Marcel Lichka recommended the management of “Orenburg” for the position of coach Yaroshik.
“About two months ago I spoke with Lichka. He said there was an option in which he would leave the club. And he told the management about me. Then there was a silence Lichka called me back and said he was still He said to speak to the sporting director and they would be happy to call me.
I understand that they will play against us differently. Prepare differently. Of course, it will be difficult to repeat the result of last season, but I will try to succeed,” said Jiri about signing a contract with Orenburg.
Jiri hasn’t lost contact with Russia and has always said he would be happy to go and train at the RPL. Yaroshik will try to keep the bar of his predecessor, while maintaining the philosophy and game strategy.
