The Portuguese can lead Al-Nasr
Portuguese mentor Luis Castro officially left Botafogo. Together with him, the Brazilian club also left the representatives of the coaching staff.
Castro, 61, has reportedly accepted an offer to head a foreign club. He has been with Botafogo since March 2022.
Earlier it was reported that the Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo recommended the leadership of Al-Nasr to invite Castro to the post of head coach.
Kashtru is an ex-coach of Donetsk Shakhtar. Luis led the Donetsk team in 2019-21 and, together with the Pitmen, won the Ukrainian championship once.
In the spring, Al-Nasr fired head coach Rudy Garcia. Dinko Jelicic, coach of the U-19 squad, became the team’s new mentor. Among the candidates for the post of head coach were Leonardo Jardim and Massimiliano Allegri.
Al-Nasr finished the season in second place in the Saudi Arabian Pro League. Cristiano Ronaldo’s side failed to win trophies last season, losing to Al Ittihad in the Super Cup and Al Wahda in the semi-finals of the Saudi Cup.
