Jorge Jesus named Al-Hilal’s new head coach

The Portuguese captained the club from Saudi Arabia in 2018

Portuguese specialist Georges Jesus became the new head coach Al Hilala.

Jesus previously worked for the Riyadh-based club in 2018. Under his leadership, the team fought for the championship title in Saudi Arabia and won the country’s Super Cup.

Jesus has previously worked for Benfica, Sporting, Braga, Flamengo and a number of other clubs. In June, the 68-year-old Portuguese left Fenerbahce. Jesus was also named among the contenders for the post of head coach of the Saudi Arabia national team.

Earlier, Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri refused to lead Al-Hilal. The club from Saudi Arabia offered the Italian 20 million euros per season and a contract until 2025.

Wolverhampton midfielder Ruben Neves moved to Al Hilal. It was reported that the club from Riyadh will pay 47 million pounds for the player. The central defender Kalidou Koulibaly has also officially become a player of the team.

Al-Hilal finished in third place in the Saudi Arabia Pro League standings.
