This is his long social greeting:
“With great sadness, the time has come to hang our shoes on a nail.
I will cherish every moment from my first days at Barcelona, Arsenal, back to Blaugrana, Chelsea, Monaco and finally to Como.
From the World Cup to the European Championship, victories in England, Spain, winning European trophies: it was a trip that I will never forget.
Everyone who helped me, my teammates, coaches, directors, presidents, owners, fans and my agent; to my whole family, from parents to sister, wife and children, who have always given me advice and have always been guides; to my rivals with whom I have shared great battles on the field: thank you for making me stronger.
I have so many lasting memories and made friends along the way, that alone would be worth it.

I also learned three languages and grew and matured in my travels.
I had an experience that I never thought I even came close to in a million years.
But I’m not sad because I’m about to start a new journey: coaching the B team and Primavera from Como 1907. A club and a project that I couldn’t be more enthusiastic about. This team won my heart from the first minutes, we met at the perfect moment in my career. I will give my all in this new adventure.
So, after 20 incredible years of sacrifice, joy and passion, it’s time to say thank you again and say hello to the most beautiful sport in the world.
I loved every minute.
Cesk”.
