The miner decided not to buy out the player’s contract, considering the amount too high
Defender Bogdan Mikhailichenko will return to Anderlecht.
The Ukrainian spent the past season at Shakhtar on loan. The miners planned to buy out the player’s contract, but considered the transfer fee too high. It was reported that Anderlecht would receive €2.5 million for the player.
The player should arrive at the location of the Belgians within a week. Anderlecht is reportedly considering both a profitable sale for the defender and a contract extension if the player convinces the coaching staff in training. Bogdan’s current agreement runs until the summer of 2024.
Last season, Mikhailichenko made 32 appearances for Shakhtar in all competitions. The 26-year-old defender scored two goals and provided five assists.
Shakhtar became the champion of Ukraine. Anderlecht finished 11th in the Župil League.
