Ventura: “Ranieri appreciated Cagliari, now I hope they will have succession in Serie A”

Interviewed All Cagliariformer national team coach Giampiero Ventura spoke about the transition of Claudio Ranieri’s team to Serie A and expectations for the next year: “In the meantime, I must say that I saw the playoff matches that led to promotion. In my opinion, the great merit of Ranieri upon his return to Sardinia was that he immediately made it clear to the group what Serie B is and what needs to be done in this type of championship, that is, immerse yourself in a completely different reality from Serie A. In my opinion, at the start of the season, Cagliari had one of the most competitive squads in the category. So the promotion didn’t surprise me; in any case, I was struck by the difficult and stunted departure. Ranieri was able to use the qualities of the best Rossoblu players and, so to speak, made the team a little more “working”. Lapadula in Serie B didn’t have that, Nandez didn’t. Claudio appreciated the qualities of people and, in the end, was rewarded.
