Andriy Shevchenko spoke about his position on the admission of Russians and Belarusians to competitions

Athletistic / Football. Former Chelsea and Milan striker, as well as ex-Ukrainian national team coach Andriy Shevchenko, opposed the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to the competition. According to the Ukrainian, representatives of Russia and Belarus should not participate in competitions, including the Olympics.

“My position is very clear. No Russian or Belarusian athlete should participate in the competition,” SkySports Shevchenko quotes.

Previously, the head of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach, had argued for the admission of Russians and Belarusians into neutral status. At the same time, he said, the organization recommends admitting athletes who have not supported the conduct of a special military operation.

Subsequently, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) adopted a resolution calling on the IOC to prevent Russians and Belarusians from participating in the Olympic Games in Paris (France).
