The authorities of the Voronezh region spoke about the timing and financing of repairs to the Fakela stadium

The head of the physical culture and sports department of the Voronezh region, Dmitry Sobolev, told that the elimination of shortcomings at the Central Trade Union Stadium, where the local football club “Torch ” will hold RPL home matches, must be completed by July 1.

Previously, the Voronezh club received a temporary license from the RFU to participate in the RPL due to its stadium’s incompatibility with the regulations. On June 8, the league commission visited the stadium, the governor of the Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev, assured that all work on the arena would be completed on time.

– Are you sure that such an arena will definitely pass the license to the RPL?

– On May 21, 2021, the Russian Football Union at a regular meeting decided to grant the Fakel club a temporary license of the RFS-1 category, which allows FC to participate in RPL matches. At the same time, the commission revealed a number of shortcomings, including the non-compliance of lighting with regulatory standards, as well as the lack of a control system and access control. Fakel will be able to obtain a license after correcting the deficiencies identified. Postponing until July 1, 2022 their elimination is common practice. After resolving all the shortcomings, the football club is guaranteed to be in the RPL.

To date, active work is underway in this direction: equipment and building materials have been purchased, the lawn is being laid, and the installation of lighting systems will soon be launched. The government of the Voronezh region, represented by the Department of Physical Culture and Sports, is making every effort to complete the work within the stipulated time,” Sobolev said.

— What will happen to the video cameras in the stadium?

– According to the RFU Football Stadiums standard, the stadium must be equipped with a permanent video surveillance system allowing the identification of individuals on the competition sites. In this regard, as part of the reconstruction, the installation of video surveillance systems is planned.

Who gives money for that?

– All the work of the establishment is carried out within the framework of regional budgeting.

— Did you make any repairs before, because the stadium does not belong to the club?

— The execution of the repair works is the responsibility of the owner of the Central Trade Union Stadium — the Voronezh Regional Council of Trade Unions. Due to the fact that the organization did not properly maintain the technical condition of the facility, the government of the Voronezh region concluded an agreement on the transfer of a number of premises of the stadium to the administration region for free use for a period of five years.

Fakel finished second in the National Football League (FNL) last season and earned the right to play in the RPL.
