Athletistic/ Football. ‘Spartak’ defender Tomas Tavares has undergone knee surgery, according to the Reds and Whites press service.
“Tomas Tavares has been successfully operated. He sends his regards to everyone and thanks for the words of support. Get well soon, Tomas!” the club said in a statement.
Tavares suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury as part of the Portuguese youth team during the preparation for the European U21 Championship.
In the 2022/23 season, Tavares played 18 games for the reds and whites, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
