Newcomer Castillo worked with the team
Miner spent first workout under new head coach Patrick van Leeuwen.
The miners are preparing for the next season at the training camp in the Netherlands. Shakhtar’s newcomer, Ecuadorian midfielder Denil Castillo, also worked with the team.
34 players have been involved in Shakhtar’s pre-season training. The Pitmen players who play for the Ukraine U-21 team at the European Championship 2023 will join the team later.
Van Leeuwen signed a contract with Shakhtar until June 30, 2025. As head coach of the team, the Dutchman replaced Igor Jovicevich.
The Donetsk club became the champion of Ukraine in the 2022/23 season. The Pitmen got into the third pot of the draw for the next Champions League group stage.
