Panathinaikos interested in Shakhtar defender Marlon.

The Brazilian spent the past season in Monza on loan. It was reported that the Italian club planned to buy out the contract of the 27-year-old defender. Marlon intends to again use the FIFA rule for legionnaires of Ukrainian clubs, but move to a team with a higher level.

Marlon joined the Miners in the summer of 2021. For his transfer from Sassuolo, the Donetsk club paid 12 million euros. The defender made 22 appearances for Shakhtar in all competitions and won the Ukrainian Super Cup with the team. Marlon made 28 appearances for Monza last season without scoring.

Panathinaikos finished second in the Super League. The Greek club will play with Dnipro-1 in the second round of the Champions League qualification. The first match of the confrontation will take place on July 25 in Kosice, Slovakia.
