Odessans began preparations for the new season
Main coach Chernomorets Roman Grigorchuk spoke about the preparation of the team for a new draw of the championship of Ukraine. In addition, the Odessa mentor shared information about the personnel situation in the club.
“There is a lot of positive in seeing my players on the pitch again at such a difficult time. I see that everyone really missed football and everyone is trying, even despite the game form. It is impossible to be in good condition after 4 months of doing nothing. You need to understand at what psychological and emotional level they are.

Now it is impossible for athletes to be in some minimal form. If I said earlier that it would take us 6 weeks to return the form, then this is not so – too little time. For six weeks, we will risk the health of athletes. Because of this, training needs to be stretched.
All our legionnaires have left, we will not have some Ukrainians, for example, Morozyuk. This we know for sure. I’m scared to even name the number of players that Chernomorets now has. Probably no one will even believe me. We were not even able to recruit players for the squad.
You need to get a team. Now Ukrainians are on contracts with clubs. Now there are no players who would be offered to us by agents. There are no free Ukrainian football players on the market. We simply collect players from the First and Second Leagues, invite them to watch and we will choose. Here I am not complaining at all – the harder, the more interesting. We will work, we will find ways,” Grigorchuk said.
Due to the full-scale Russian invasion, Grigorchuk did not have time to play a single match with Chernomorets after his return to Odessa in December.
It is expected that the new season in the championship of Ukraine will start tentatively on August 20. Yesterday, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to resume holding sports competitions in the country under martial law.
