Declan to become the most expensive transfer for an English player
Arsenal made a deal with West Ham about buying a midfielder Declan Rice.
The Gunners will pay £100m for the player, with another £5m to be credited to the Hammers’ account as bonuses. Thus, Rice will become the most expensive transfer in the history of Arsenal and the most expensive English player in history.
Rice was also claimed by Manchester City, but the Citizens withdrew from the fight for the player after a record bid from Arsenal. Bayern were also interested in the midfielder.
Rice made 50 appearances for the Hammers in all competitions last season, scoring five goals and providing four assists. Together with the team, Declan became the winner of the Conference League.
Arsenal have already signed Chelsea striker Kai Havertz. The Gunners paid 65 million pounds for the transfer of the German.
Arsenal with Ukrainian Oleksandr Zinchenko became vice-champions of England. West Ham finished 14th in the standings.
