The defender considers the Spanish national team a more organized team than France
Defender Ukrainian national team U-21 Arseniy Batagov spoke about the preparation of the team for the semifinals European Youth Championship 2023 with the national team Spain.
“In Bucharest the temperature is much higher than in Cluj. Therefore, the games are very difficult – even in the evening there is a very high temperature, it is hard to breathe. But we will make every effort to achieve the maximum result.”
“I think that Spain, like France, are very strong teams individually. But Spain is a more organized team. France, in turn, plays more at the expense of individual qualities, while Spain still plays more as a team.”
“I think that in the first game the Spaniards slightly underestimated us. But this won’t happen for the second match. That’s for sure. We must give ourselves 100%, because this is the only way we can go further. They have very strong players, but we also have strong players on the flanks. I think everything will be fine.”
“Ruslan Petrovich tells us that we are stronger. Perhaps someone underestimated us before this championship. But we were able to prove that we are a very strong team and we deserve to be where we are now.”
“There is no such mood, a premonition of the finale. As a team, we only think about the next game. After all, everything will depend on her: whether we will be in the final, whether we can win this championship or not.
In the quarterfinals, the Ukrainian U-21 team beat their peers from France (3:1). Ruslan Rotan’s team won a ticket to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris as one of the three best teams of the 2023 European Youth Championship.
The duel with the Spanish national team will take place on July 5 in Bucharest. The meeting starts at 22:00.
