The Leninsky District Court of Tambov found the former general director of the football club guilty of fraud “Tambov” Olga Konovalova, informed press service of the regional prosecutor’s office.
The court sentenced the culprit to a 3-year suspended sentence with a probationary period of 3 years. The verdict did not come into effect. The question of the presence or absence of grounds for appeal will be decided by the prosecution on the basis of the results of the study of the verdict.
– The court established and proved that Konovalova, who held the position of general director of AFK Tambov, intended to embezzle funds transferred to the football club as a subsidy for financial support of the costs of keeping the season sport 2019/20.
During the period from November 1, 2019 to November 6, 2019, Konovalova stole funds in the amount of 708,155 rubles, transferred them to the settlement account of an organization controlled by her, and then disposed of them to his discretion, which caused significant damage. damages to the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Tambov region for the said amount,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
The court partially granted the prosecutor’s request, and 642,755 rubles were recovered from the convict in favor of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Tambov region.
The Tambov Region Arbitration Court in October 2021 declared Tambov bankrupt. In January, the amount of the club’s debt was about 537 million rubles.
