Dynamo coach believes that athletes should train in Ukraine
Main coach Dynamo Mircea Lucescu told about his visit to Kyiv, where the white-blues began preparations for the new season. The Romanian specialist also spoke about the impact of football and sports on people during the war.
“I came here to demonstrate that life in Kyiv and Ukraine goes on. People are returning to life, and football is an important part of it,” Lucescu said.
“I arrived and started training with our players. And in this we must be an example for all athletes. We must continue to play sports in Ukraine. This is very important, because people only think about the war and the terrible things that accompany it. This is part of our present. The other part – sports, culture – something that is valuable for all of us and helps to compensate for the negative that war brings with it. I’m doing my job and I see it as a duty to help.”
On June 22, Dinamo is scheduled to leave for Bucharest, from where Lucescu’s team will go to a training camp in Switzerland. At the end of June, the Kievans plan to hold two friendly matches – with Yverdon Sport (June 26) and Lausanne (June 29).
