Blue-yellows win bronze medals at Euro 2023
The youth team of Ukraine stopped a step away from the final of the European Championship 2023. The defeat from Spain in the semi-finals did not allow the blue-yellows to at least repeat their best result in the championships of the continent. On the other hand, even getting into the 1/2 finals allowed the Ukrainian youth team to get bronze medals – there are no matches for third place in the tournament.
Bronze of Euro 2023 is the second award of the youth team of Ukraine in history after silver in 2006. In terms of the number of awards, the Ukrainian youth team ranks 17th in the overall standings of the European Championships, where teams from 21-1 countries have won medals since 1972.
Out of competition – the offender of the blue and yellow – the youth team of Spain: 11 medals, five of which are gold. The top three are Italy, which has more medals, but fewer silver medals, and Germany.

Note that if we take into account the year of the debut of the youth team of Ukraine in the championships – 1996, then in terms of the number of awards they are blue-yellow and even in TO-10. For two sets, our team had three participations in the final stages of tournaments. 12 times the Ukrainian youth team failed to overcome the qualifying stage.

In the final of Euro 2023 among the youth teams will play the teams of England and Spain. The main match of the tournament will take place on July 8 at 19:00 Kyiv time.
