“Everyone really wanted to play as successfully as possible. In recent years, the club has improved a lot in everything that revolves around football: a great stadium, attractive fans, many celebrities come, shows, concerts… Everything is done for us to play better. But in terms of football, in the season of the century, we didn’t succeed. Especially in the context of last season. It shouldn’t be. For some reason, every year the second part of the championship turns out to be worse than the first.
This season (2021/2022) has been very bright, but with a blurry end. When we became bronze medalists, we were very upset because we could take silver and win the Cup. At one point, they even thought about fighting for the title, because the lead over Zenit before the winter break was not so great. Of course, in the spring of 2022, a lot of things changed, the legionnaires, then the technical staff left. We needed quality new foreigners and a coach who could manage the team. It turned out that at the start of the 2022/2023 season we created a new team, we are also entering this season with a new coach. I am a maximalist, I always think about what went wrong and why, including with me. What could I do to make our team more successful?
We have a fairly young team, there are few experienced players: me, Smolov and Parshivlyuk. We try to take more responsibility, to encourage the guys. But last season, even more effort was needed in this regard, so that everyone in the team was more united and at the same time demanding of themselves. We all lacked responsibility in training, responsibility in work, concentration, dedication in the field. It is clear that there is no single reason. Our whole club is responsible for the result, – quotes the words of Shunin “Championship”.
