Tsurenko defeated Bogdan in a dramatic match and for the first time in her career reached the fourth round of Wimbledon

The Ukrainian finished the fight only from the 7th match point

Ukrainian tennis player Lesya Tsurenko advanced to the fourth round for the first time in her career Wimbledon.

In the 1/16 finals, Tsurenko won in an incredible match Anu Bogdan from Romania. Tennis players spent three and a half hours on the court.

The fate of the meeting was determined in the third set. At first, Lesya bounced back from 3:5, and then did not convert the match point at a score of 6:5. At the tie-break, the Ukrainian was stronger – 20:18.

Note that Tsurenko finished the match only from the 7th match point. Bohdan didn’t convert five match points.

In the 1/8 finals of Wimbledon 2023, Tsurenko will play with the winner of the match Jessica Pegula (USA, 4) – Elisabetta Cocciaretto (Italy).

Today the match of the third round of Wimbledon will be held by Elina Svitolina. Former first racket of Ukraine will play with Sofia Kenin. Estimated start of the meeting is at 20:15.

Marta Kostyuk made it to the third round of Wimbledon, defeating Paula Badosa. Angelina Kalinina and Katerina Beindl left the singles tournament.
