Tsurenko and Bohdan play the longest women’s singles tie-break in Grand Slam history (video)

Lesya beat the Romanian with a score of 20:18

Ukrainian Lesya Tsurenko and Romanian Ana Bogdan installed a new record tournaments Grand Slam. Tennis players played longest tie-break in women’s singles in Grand Slam history.

Tsurenko defeated Bogdan in the third round of Wimbledon 2023. In the decisive third set, Lesya beat her opponent in a tie-break with a score of 20:18. The tie-break lasted 37 minutes.

The previous record was set in 2015 in the first round of Roland Gorras: Czech Denisa Allertova beat Briton Johanna Konta with a score of 19:17.

The match itself between Tsurenko and Bogdan lasted 3 hours and 40 minutes and became the longest in the Wimbledon women’s draw in 2023.

Tsurenko reached the fourth round of Wimbledon for the first time in her career. In the 1/8 finals, the Ukrainian will play with the fourth seeded Jessica Pegula from the USA.
