The Pitmen’s first match at the training camp in the Netherlands
Miner played the first test match at the training camp in the Netherlands in preparation for the new season. The Pitmen played to a draw with AZ – 3:3.
At the beginning of the match, the teams exchanged goals between Mesa de Vita and Alexander Zubkov. After the break, Yusuf Barasi again put AZ ahead, but three minutes later Valery Bondar equalized the score.
In the 65th minute, AZ took the lead for the third time in the match thanks to the efforts of Ruben van Bommel. At the 76th minute, Kevin Kelsey returned parity to the scoreboard. No more goals were scored by the teams.
It should be noted that at the end of the first half, Shakhtar’s defender Yefim Konoplya was injured and could not continue the fight.
It was Shakhtar’s first match under new head coach Patrick van Leeuwen. The Pitmen plan to hold the next sparring on July 13 with AEK.
Shakhtar became the champion of Ukraine and will play in the group stage of the Champions League. In the first round of the new UPL season, the Pitmen will face Metalist 1925. The base date is 29 July.
